Vilolet was born on Oct. 9, 1909, in Shanghai, Warren County, Il., the daughter of Carl J. and Victoria (Nelson) Johnson. She married David D. Park in 1934 in Morrison, Il. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Violet was employed at Eagle Foods, Milan, Il, and the former Lutheran Hospital, Moline. She volunteered for many years with Project Now, and was, an active member of Silvis Heights Baptist Church for 57 years. She was a member of the WSO class at her church. Violet was an avid reader and was seldom seen without a book in her hand. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and crocheting, and donated numerous afghans to the missionary cupboard at her church.
Violet is survived by five children and their spouses: Marie (Les) Luft, DeWitt, Ia.; Elliot (Ruth) Park, Washington, Il; Diane (Howard) Davenport, Milan, IL; Carolyn (Jack) Wiese, Eldridge, IA; and Stanley (Joyce) Park, Glendale, AZ. Also surviving Violet are one brother, Robert (Gertrude) Johnson of Teague, TX, three sisters, Eunice (J.R.) Atkinson of Corpus Christi, TX, Bernyce McNealy, Umatilla, FL, and Gerthrude McCord, Galesburg, IL, and 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
